High Plains Environmental Center
A nonprofit nature center with 275 acres of restored native open space and trails, plus demonstration gardens that are open dawn to dusk every day.
High Plains Environmental Center restores native ecosystems within the suburban landscape and manages 275 acres of open space and trails for recreation and wildlife habitat. Its demonstration gardens show what a native-plant garden can look like, and its offices, open by appointment, hold a small library, museum and classroom. The native plant nursery sells online for in-person pickup, with occasional on-site pop-up sales, and the center runs classes, events and volunteer days.
