Boyd Lake State Park has 1,700 surface acres of water, 140 paved campsites and more than 200 bird species. Low water has closed the lake to boating for the rest of 2026, though kayaks, paddleboards and swimming are still allowed, and the marina is closed for the 2026 season. Entry requires a daily vehicle pass ($10–$12 for Colorado plates, $15–$17 for out-of-state plates) or an individual pass ($4); leashed dogs and horses are permitted. Larimer County Stage 1 fire restrictions currently apply in the park.
